Century Moo In A Flamboro Feature Stunner

Published: April 30, 2026 10:51 pm EDT

Century Moo rolled uncovered out of third into the final turn and finished gamely to land a 42-1 upset in the $9,900 conditioned feature for pacing fillies and mares on Thursday, April 30 at Flamboro Downs.

The three-year-old, making her second start of the year, was a strung-out third much of the way as Kootenay Leia (Brett MacDonald) dictated the tempo through fractions of :27.3, :57.1 and 1:25.3. Damian MacLellan revved Century Moo up to march first-over at three-quarters, and the filly had even-money second choice Kootenay Leia under duress as they straightened for home. The pacesetter fought on, but Century Moo edged past her down the stretch and stopped the timer in 1:54.3 with her neck in front. Sunny Dreams (Ondrej Gois) finished third.

The daughter of Cattlewash-Beach Sports, who finished eight lengths back in third to  Kootenay Leia five days ago, is now one-for-two in 2026. Century Moo earned her fifth victory in 12 career starts for trainer Rene Bourassa. Owned by Les Ecuries Marc Gelinas of Saint-Narcisse, Que. and Gilles Caouette of Sudbury, Ont., she has earned $31,513. Her backers received $86.70 for a $2 ticket.
