Breakaway Racing and Yorwollahan Racing Team's Speed Away continued his affinity for Harrington Raceway with a win in the $25,000 Open Trot on Wednesday, April 30.
Nick Callahan trainee Speed Away ($3.80) and driver Corey Callahan left the gate in aggressive fashion and marched to the lead from post position five, where he would stay throughout en route to a wire-to-wire open length win in 1:54.1 over Sassy Reagan (Jim Morand) and Lizzy Lauxmont (Trae Porter). This victory was the second win in four starts this year for the Father Patrick-All The Time gelding, who has banked $388,178 lifetime. Both of his wins this year have come at Harrington, as did all seven of his 2024 wins.
In the sub-featured $20,139 Winners Over Trot, Moni Talks Stable's Not For Moni ($14.20, Allan Davis) used a late stretch kick to upend his rivals in 1:56 over Muscle Dynasty (Anthony Morgan) and Wily Wally (Troy Beyer). The seven-year-old Muscle Hill-Nothing But Moni gelding notched his fourth win of the season for trainer Brendan Davis.
Ingrid Wolfenden's Baby Bob ($3.60, Ross Wolfenden) improved to four-for-four this year with a dominant 1:55.3 triumph in a $17,361 conditioned trot. The four-year-old Southwind Frank-Princessofpink gelding led wire-to-wire in an open length score for his eighth lifetime win.
Trainer Joe Hunderptfund Jr. is nearing the 2,000 win milestone, currently standing at 1,997 after wins with Charlieboy ($2.80, Jason Thompson) and Brutalizer ($40.60, Troy Beyer).
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule with a first post of 4:30 p.m.
