Obya Entertainment, the company behind the exciting behind the scenes harness racing TV show, is launching a talk show titled "All Out!"
.
Canada's first magazine show featuring candid commentary about harness racing and other topics, "All Out" will feature guests from various industries in an all-out fashion discussing their personal opinion on various topics such as sports, politics, entertainment, life situations, as well as hot topics in racing. The show will air weekly, with virtually no topic considered taboo or off limits. The emphasis will be on educated dialogue and not just celebrity status.
The new product of Obya Entertainment Group is designed to attract audiences who may not be in harness racing but see value and entertainment in "no holds barred" discussions.
The following clip is a preview to the final product, featuring Trot Magazine's Darryl Kaplan, Hall of Famer Bill O'Donnell, horseplayer Eric Poteck and horse owner Allan Pootoolal.

My apologies, but if this is
My apologies, but if this is what our sport has to offer we're in trouble.
I appreciate the efforts of trying something but if you're going to try it and push it and advertise it - you need to do better than this.
-can't hear the guys (I assume because they don't have microphones on them)
-irritating animation randomly thrown in
-camera movement is all over the place
-jumping from shot to shot
And the article above states - "The new product of Obya Entertainment Group is designed to attract audiences who may not be in harness racing but see value and entertainment in "no holds barred" discussions."
I don't know of any of my friends outside of the racing industry that would be remotely interested in hearing this type of discussion. This is a standardbred racing "insider" topic of conversation and it certainly wasn't "no holds barred".
We talk a lot about trying to push our sport further and make people understand how great it is and I commend the effort of at least trying, but this is totally missing the mark and not what I expected to see at all after reading the description.
Don't give up, we need this type of thing, but waiting until there's something worthwhile to put out there is better than putting something like this out prematurely.
agree with the sound... Also
agree with the sound... Also it's disappointing to hear industry people who should know better repeat the koolaid-induced phrase that the Meadowlands was "subsidized."
The purses were supplemented by gambling revenue directed to a fund created to protect AC from any lobbying of expanded gambling. The Meadowlands harness racing has "subsidized" so many state projects, including the purchase of Monmouth Park and turned a profit right up until the NJSEA books mysteriously said it didn't. Don't believe otherwise until you see an accurate line item accounting that says so. And you will see a unicorn run across the track at Woodbine first.
good concept though, keep doing it.
A great idea and will
A great idea and will continue to follow this venue, however you need to take care of the basics. The topic and speakers were top notch but the sound quality was "high school". You each need to have your own microphone and the back drop was less than ideal. The reflection in the wall mount tv showed movement behind the camera.
Please work out the equipment and logistic glitches and you will have a great product.
