The win streak is now eight and counting for Lucky Jim, who barely broke a sweat en route to taking home
the lion’s share of the $41,500 purse in Thursday’s final of the Father Foley Memorial Trot at The Meadowlands.
Racing for the husband and wife duo of driver Andy Miller and trainer Julie Miller, Lucky Jim marched right to the lead in the four-horse affair and chopped out splits of :28.4, :58.2 and 1:27.2 before storming home in :27.2 to stop the teletimer in 1:54.4.
Sent off as the 1-9 favourite, the four-year-old son of S Js Photo drew off to win by more than two lengths over runner-up Wind Surfer. Swan Image took home the show dough and Stand Guard wound up fourth.
David & John Prushnok of Punxsutawney, PA and William Gregg of Indiana, PA share ownership on the photogenic square gaiter, who has banked $236,953 to date.
