Macharoundtheclock Best At Meadows

Ontario-sired Macharoundtheclock wrested the early lead from Do Me Honor and sprinted away from her late to capture Friday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

A confirmed closer for much of her career, Macharoundtheclock lately has been flashing early speed. Her new versatility served her well Friday, as she swept past Do Me Honor near the quarter for Eric Ledford and scored handily in 1:52.4 over a “good” surface. Do Me Honor was best of the rest, two and a quarter lengths back, with longshot Ladystar third.

Tim Twaddle trains Macharoundtheclock, a five-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Summers Soul who now boasts $438,073 in career earnings, for Birnam Wood Farms.

Aaron Merriman piloted three winners on the 14-race card.
