Record Month For PA Slot Machines

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has announced that during the month of March 2012, the State of Pennsylvania saw its slot machines create $233,147,479 in gross revenue, which marked a record high for any month since legalized gaming began in the state

(November, 2006).

According to the PGCB's most recent monthly report, that amount eclipsed the high previous month (July 2011, when gross revenue totaled $218,300,465).

This March’s amount was also 8.5 per cent higher than the amount of gross revenue generated in March 2011, when revenue was $214,926,433.

Tax revenue to the Commonwealth this March was also the highest monthly generation to date at $126,482,681, an average of $4 million per day.

March 2012 and 2011 gross revenue and percentage change for each of the casinos appears below.

The average number of operating slot machines at these facilities was 26,344 in March 2012 and 26,592 in March 2011.
