Shrugging off a demanding opening panel, Meirs Hanover rolled to his second straight victory in Tuesday’s $22,500 Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Meirs Hanover sprang for the lead from Post 7 for Dave Palone but encountered resistance from Biletnikoff, who forced the 2-5 favourite to pace in :26.3 before making the front. The five-year-old son of Artsplace-Mary Mattgalane had just enough to down the rallying Jojo N Goliath by half a length in 1:50.2. Star Party was third.

Ron Burke trains Meirs Hanover, who now boasts $360,444 in career earnings, for Ohio partners David Van Dusen, Michael Cimaglio and Strollin Stable.

Palone and Burke each enjoyed a four-bagger on the 15-race card.
