There wasn't anything lucky about the performance of Feeling Cam Lucky (George Napolitano Jr.) in Sunday's featured event at Harrah's Philadelphia -- a pace for non-winners of $20,000 in their last five starts or non-winners of nine races or $90,000. The purse was $18,000.
Starting from post six, the six-year-old gelding by Camluck made a three-wide quarter brush to the top, and was super game to the wire, outfighting an equally persistent Shneonucrzydiamnd A (Eric Goodell) to win by one length in 1:50.2. Kid PK (Tony Morgan) finished third.
It was career start No. 100 for Feeling Cam Lucky, who notched his eighth lifetime win for owner/trainer Gilbert Garcia-Herrera. The win puts the gelding just over $175,000 in career earnings.
He returned $14 for a $2 winning mutuel, keying an exacta worth $66.80, a trifecta worth $534, and a superfecta tallying $1,061.50 for a 50-cent wager.
Live racing returns Wednesday at Harrah's Philadelphia, with a start time of 12:25 p.m. Eastern.
