Big Bad Jenn closed out Friday night's harness racing action at The Raceway at Western Fair District with a front-end score to keep her win streak alive.
Driven by J Harris, Big Bag Jenn looped to the lead during the opening panel and rebuffed a challenge from eventual runner-up Alyssa Marie (Garrett Rooney) past the third quarter pole to win by one length in 1:59.2 over the sloppy track. Bump In The Road (Travis Henry) followed more than four lengths behind in third.
The seven-year-old Big Bad John mare, who started her current streak on March 24 at The Raceway, recorded her sixth win in a row at the $7,000 claiming level and her 10th victory overall this year -- tying for most wins in North America this season.
Big Bad Jenn was coming off a season's-best 1:57.4 score over Flamboro Downs last Saturday for trainer Gerard Demers that followed four wins in a row at Western Fair for Stewart McQueen. She was the 1-5 favourite in her Raceway return and paid $2.70 to win.
Big Bad Jenn was claimed back in her last start by McQueen and partners Louie Sorella and Donald MacLellan, but the popular mare will now return to the Gerard Demers stable for owner La Ferm Tag Inc. off another $8,750 claim.
