Oakrock Almighty Repeats At CDP

Oakrock Almighty overcame an interference break to double up in the $2,200 Preferred Handicap Pace at Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday

Driven by Ron Matheson for trainer Jody Matheson, the popular outside assignee trailed the six-horse field early on and reset after being interfered with at the half before tracking down pacesetter Matt Trapper and Brian Andrew into the stretch. Oakrock Almighty posted a one length victory in 1:57.4 with Private Joke and Marc Campbell recovering from their first over break and coming on for second. The Walter Cheverie-driven J K Special finished back in third ahead of Matt Trapper.

Oakrock Almighty paid $3.60 to win. The six-year-old Rambaran gelding, who has hit the board in each of his six 2011 starts (three wins) is owned by Jack Keenan of Stratford, P.E.I. and C. Joseph Dahl of Burlington, Ont. His 18th career victory left his bankroll just shy of $60,000.
