Quiksilvr Bluechip was a 1:55.3 winner in the $20,000 Open Trot Wednesday (April 27) at Harrington Raceway.
The six-year-old Credit Winner gelding settled in third to the opening quarter behind early leader Keystone Cecilia. Remarkable De Vie made a quarter-pole brush to the front shortly thereafter, while Quiksilvr Bluechip sat fourth to the half-mile. Secret Jet pulled first-over to three-quarters with Quiksilver Bluechip following that move and eventually surging three-wide on the final turn and blowing by the leaders for an open length win. Lizzy Lauxmont picked up the chase to finish second at 42-to-1, while Remarkable De Vie held third.
Trained by co-owner Kirby, it was the second win of the year for Quiksilvr Bluechip, who is also owned by Tyler Raymer, Stephen Moss and Brian Hoffecker. Victor Kirby drove the $3.60 winner.
Earlier on the card, owner-trainer-driver Jim Atkinson earned his first pari-mutuel driving win with trotter Freedom Express ($8) in 1:58.3.
Allan Davis, Montrell Teague and Pat Berry each had three wins on the card.
