Veteran pacer Outlawpositivcharg continued a unique streak with a wire-to-wire victory in Charlottetown Driving Park's feature race on Saturday evening.
The popular son of Blissfull Hall has now won his first start of the season for five years in a row.
Outlawpositivcharg began his nine-year-old campaign on Saturday with a 1:58.4 triumph in the top pacing class on the card for trainer-driver Terry Gallant and owner J. Fred Lamont of Calgary, Alta. Blue Star Outlaw (Jason Hughes) closed late to finish half a length behind in second and Im Dreamin N (Mark Cullen) rounded out the top three finishers one and three-quarter lengths behind after closing from the back of the pack.
The two-time Governor's Plate champion now boasts 46 wins on his lifetime record.
This week's Open Handicap Trot went to favourite Buckling Banbury and driver Corey MacPherson. The seven-year-old Keystone Nordic mare held off Zip The Lip (Brian MacPhee) by a head in 2:00.3 after finishing second to him in last week's Open affair. Delta Dental (Walter Cheverie) finished third over four lengths behind.
Ronnie Gass trains newcomer Buckling Banbury, who has been racing at the The Meadows for the last two seasons. She is now owned by William Andrew of Calgary, Alta., Brian Andrew of Milton Station, P.E.I., and Blake Andrew of Montreal, Que.
The win was the first of two for the Andrews, who also saw the Darren Trainor-conditioned pacing mare Block Party make the trip to victory lane with a 2:00 effort with Jason Hughes in the sulky.
