Out Like A Lion Series Continues

Future Talent earned an Out Like A Lion Series double with a front end victory in her third leg division Friday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway

Four-year-old Glidemaster mare Future Talent ($3.40) cleared to command after the opening quarter mark and never looked back en route to a two length tally in 2:02.2 for driver Simon Allard and trainer-owner Rene Allard. She won her first round division and missed by just a head in the second leg behind the travelling trotter Nuriev Dream.

Onthemoneyside ($8.10) won the other division in 2:00.2 in rein to Yves Filion for trainer Luc Blais, who also co-owns the four-year-old On The Sonny mare with breeder Judith Farrow. Onthemoneyside converted from the pocket to edge out Rae Conns Dyl Emma, who was undefeated in the two opening legs. Nuriev Dream was third. Last year's Majestic Son Trotting Series Final runner-up was fourth in both of her previous 'Lion' prelims.

The series is for non-winners of $30,000 (fillies & mares $37,500) lifetime as of Dec. 31, 2011.
