A new lifetime mark and a $13,000 payday were earned by an 11-1 upsetter named Tokyo Seelster in Monday’s $26,000 trotting feature at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

With Louis-Philippe Roy at the controls, Tokyo Seelster got away third in the seven-horse affair while Pikachu Hanover shot to the top from Post 7 and supplied the field with an opening quarter clocked in :27.3.  Oney Hall then powered up to take command in the backstretch, and he sailed through middle panels of :56 and 1:24.2 before coming under attack around the final turn.

Race favourite HP Mama B advanced first-over on the way to the three-quarter pole, and she worked her way to the front as the group raced down the lane. She couldn’t fend off the late-surging Tokyo Seelster, however, as that one shook loose late and used his :27.3 closing quarter to win by three-quarters of a length over HP Mama B in 1:52.4. Shadrack Hanover rallied from last to finish a solid third.

Richard Moreau trains the five-year-old son of Kadabra-Tymal Timeout for Michael and Sam Sergi of Canton, New York.  The victory was the second of the season from 14 attempts for the 13-time career winner.  The lion’s share of the $26,000 purse bumped his overall bankroll to $382,252.
