A second-row start and 6-5 favourite Star Photo proved no trouble for All Out Henry ($12.90), who answered both challenges en route to a win in the featured $8,500 Preferred 3 Trot on Wednesday night (April 25) at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
The six-year-old Cornaro Dasolo gelding, fresh off a runner-up effort at this level last week, landed in fourth from the second row behind a three-way battle to the first turn, but inherited the third spot when Thee Desperado (J Harris) broke approaching the backstretch. Scott Young and All Out Henry rated well off a :28.3 first quarter controlled by favoured pacesetter Star Photo (Alfie Carroll) before gradually closing a gap behind pocket rival Stonebridge Score (Tyler Borth) on the far turn and angling first-over with nine-sixteenths to go.
After gradually working closer while Star Photo reached race’s midpoint in :59.2, All Out Henry turned up the heat on the pacesetter with three-eighths remaining and dueled to the lead with just over a quarter mile remaining. All Out Henry drew clear on the home turn after wearing down Star Photo and was driven out to evade Tymal Diamond (Bob McClure) and Rainbow Gold (Dennis Duford) en route to a 1:59.3 score.
Pam Forgie owns and trains All Out Henry, now a 12-time winner who boasts career earnings of $88,053.
