Horses Arriving In Yorkton

Horses are starting to arrive in Yorkton to prepare for the 12-day summer meet, which opens on Friday, June 7.

With all the snow received in Saskatchewan this winter, some trainers have been unable to start spring training.

The Yorkton Exhibition has cleared the track of up to four inches of snow and the track is ready for jogging.

One stable from Alberta, one from Manitoba and one from Saskatchewan are now on grounds and it is expected that more will soon arrive as most farm tracks are either snow covered or too soft for training.
