Earlier this evening at Western Fair Raceway, 2009 National Driving Champion Brad Forward was presented with the official Canadian driving colours that he will adorn while competing in the 2009 World Driving Championship in Norway starting on May 14
.
Before the presentation, Forward took part in an autograph session with racing fans and was presented with a Good Luck banner that has been sent to racetracks across the country for fans to sign.
During the presentation hosted by racetrack announcer Frank Salive, which took place trackside before Friday evening’s live program of racing, Forward received the Canadian colours and matching helmet from Standardbred Canada’s President/CEO Ted Smith and Manager of Industry Marketing Kathy Wade Vlaar. Jack McNiven, representing the Standardbred Horse Owners Panel (SHOP), also presented Forward with Maple Leaf pins for him to give to participants and hosts at the international competition.
