Dreamfair Eternal established a Canadian season’s record for older pacing mares with a stunning 1:49.4 victory in Friday’s $44,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Woodbine Racetrack.

The five-year-old daughter of Camluck - J Cs Nathalie used her patented off-the-pace style for driver Tony Kerwood and took command just before the three-quarter mark in 1:23. Once on top, the powerful pacing mare pulled away from her rivals with devastating ease in a :26.4 final quarter.

To Helen Back (Mike Saftic) and Marietta Hall (Mark MacDonald) rounded out the top three.

It was the second straight and fourth win this season in six outings for Dreamfair Eternal who is trained by Patrick Fletcher for owners John and Mary Lamers of Ingersoll, Ontario. She is a half sister to millionaire pacer Dreamfair Vogel.

The win boosted her career earnings to just over $220,000.
