The Prospector Claiming Series continued on Saturday night at Georgian Downs with Whatsthurraymurray and Life Of Ease taking the next two $10,000 splits
. The series is for $12,500 claiming pacers that are non-winners of $60,000 lifetime as of Mar. 15.
In the first division, Life Of Ease and driver Aaron Byron took control after the opening quarter and led the rest of the way to score in 1:54.2 by three-quarters of a length over Crash Course (Anthony MacDonald) and longshot Alcars Spud Baran (Scott Coulter).
Life Of Ease ($8.50), fourth in the opening round, picked up his second win of the season in nine outings and pushed his earnings to $10,525 for trainer and owner Stephan Pryjma of Whitby, Ont. The five-year-old Life Sign-Like A Melody gelding sports 10 victories on his lifetime record with $63,958 in earnings.
Whatsthurraymurray and driver J.R. Plante went from last to first when the leader broke stride at the three-quarters mark in the second division, prevailing by a quarter length in a career-best 1:56.1 over Cambest Kisser (Paul MacKenzie). Goal Getter (Tony Kerwood) finished third.
Whatsthurraymurray ($3.20), a runner-up in his first leg division, has won four times in 14 starts this year while banking $21,500. The four-year-old Bo Knows Jate-Catcan gelding is owned by trainer Rene Allard, Simon Allard of Waterdown, Ont. and Robert Cloutier of Montreal, Que. The eight-time career winner has banked $43,753 to date.
