NAADA Donates To Richie Ingrassia Fund

Upon the suggestion of Cory Stratton, the North American Amateur Drivers Association's (NAADA) Board of Directors has decided to contribute the drivers 5 per cent of the money that they “earned”-–amateurs receive no remuneration--in the NAADA series legs commencing with the leg this week at Yonkers Raceway

and the following leg at Monticello Raceway as well as from the $12,000 Final at Yonkers and the $4,000 Consolation at Monticello Raceway to the Richie Ingrassia Fund.

“The estimated amount will exceed $1,000, “ NAADA president Joe Faraldo said, “and whether Cory Stratton wins any of the legs or the finales Cory has demonstrated compassion for the surviving family of someone taken from us too soon in life. At a mere 17 years old Cory seems to understand very well what life is all about. The amateur drivers competing with Cory are intent on doing their best to beat him but now have a new found admiration for him.

“The needs of the family continue and contributions can be made directly to 'The Richie Ingrassia Fund' and mail it to 365 Main Street, Hurleyville, New York 12747. Or you can visit his website at www.richieingrassiafund.com,” Faraldo added.

There will be a pancake breakfast with cooks and servers like Ray Schnittker, George Brennan, Jordan Stratton and a clean-up crew of notables at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen, New York on June 20 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. to try to raise more money for the education and well being of Ingrassia’s wife Kelly and his two children, Richie and Hannah.

Everyone is welcome to join and help out a worthy cause.
