Officials with Northside Downs have scheduled the first qualifying session for the 2018 season for this coming Saturday (April 28) at 12:00 p.m.
To enter the qualifying races, please contact the race office at 902-794-7599 on Wednesday (April 25) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Please note that entries will only be taken by speaking to the race office directly. Voicemail messages for entries will not be accepted, which is a change from previous years.
The track is also expected to host qualifiers on Saturday, May 5 prior to opening day, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 12.
It is important that horsepeople are aware that a Standardbred Canada field representative will be on hand to conduct business during the qualifying sessions.
Standardbred Canada would like to remind all horsepeople that all memberships and eligibility fees need to be paid. Additionally, name changes need to be made before a horse ever qualifies. Coggins tests are required as set out in the rules in your racing jurisdiction.

Additionally, if a horse’s $73 eligibility fee is not paid prior to it making its first start (in a race or qualifier), the horse will be suspended after its first outing in 2018, and the owner of the horse will then be invoiced. For complete information, click here.
