Despite being rebuffed by Saulsbrook Peach on the first turn, Lets Wait And See ($2.10) made good as the twenties-on favourite in the featured $8,500 Preferred 3 Pace on Sunday evening (April 22) at Flamboro Downs.

Lets Wait And See left strongly from midpack as the gate sprung, but was seated in the pocket by Saulsbrook Peach (Robert Shepherd) on the first turn. After drafting through early fractions of :28.2 and :58.4, the seven-year-old Shadow Play gelding was boxed by first-over challenger Toot Toot N (Ed Hensley) as the pace quickened to a 1:27.1 three-quarters split, but was able to emerge up the open stretch upon cornering for home. Lets Wait And See lifted up the pegs to prevail by a length in 1:55.1 over Saulsbrook Peach, while Arrived Late (Scott Coulter) rallied off second-over cover to take third.

Scott Friend trains 23-time winner Lets Wait And See for Tyler Friend. The win was the fourth of Lets Wait And See’s 2018 campaign in 11 appearances.
