.

"The Selection Committee and Executive Committee are very pleased that we have now chosen a person to take this important position," said Wittup. "The Board of Directors will meet to ratify the decision by conference call on Monday, April 26 and I am very hopeful that an announcement will be made promptly following the vote.

"I believe this is the biggest decision the Directors have had to make since Standardbred Canada was formed 12 years ago. The CEO selection process has been a long and thorough one and we are very confident in the decision."

Wittup indicated that the new President and CEO is scheduled to begin at Standardbred Canada on May 17. Ted Smith, SC's current President and CEO, will be retiring on May 28.
