Remember Titans romped last week in his seasonal bow at Plainridge Park and despite moving to the top class, was again a runaway winner in the $25,000 Winners-Over trot on Thursday afternoon.
Big Box Hanover (Larry Stalbaum) took the early lead from post eight but saw Remember Titans (Jay Randall) claim that spot from him just past the quarter. From there Randall had his charge on cruise and dictated the race. After backing down the second quarter to :30, Remember Titans opened up a three length advantage in a swift :27.4 third panel and held that healthy lead headed into the stretch for home. From there Randall had Remember Titans wrapped up and under a line drive as he rejected a late bid from Trixie Dust (Alex Chartrand) at the wire where he won in 1:55.
It was the fourth win in 11 starts this year for Remember Titans ($2.40) who is owned by Kellogg Racing Stables and his trainer, Jackie Greene.
Jay Randall ended up the day with three winners on the card. Besides Remember Titans he also got across with Abuelita Hanover (1:55, $6.60) and Omaha Omaha (1:59, $9.00).
In the $15,000 conditioned trotting co-feature, Four Under Par (Bruce Ranger) remained undefeated in 2022 after going gate to wire in a convincing three-length victory. Ranger put Four Under Par on the point while seating New Legacy (Drew Monti) and Theresademoninme (Leon Bailey) who both followed in chase while the leader set fractions of :27.4, :58.2 and 1:27. As the group came off the turn, Four Under Par started to accelerate and opened up a three-length advantage down the stretch before stopping the clock in a lifetime best 1:56 to capture his third straight of the year.
Four Under Par ($5.60) is owned by William Hartt and is trained by Lance Hudson.
Racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Thursday (April 21) at 4 p.m.
