After a rough outing at Mohawk Racetrack on April 16, Lexis D J took his talents to Flamboro Downs and managed to find his mojo.

Bob McClure got away third with Lexis D J while Can I Say powered through fractions of :28, :57.1 and 1:27.4. She was pestered for most of the mile by Call Me Richard, and eventually both of them were gobbled up by Lexis D J. He only needed a :31.3 closing quarter to win by a length over race favourite Can I Say in 1:59.3. Rounding out the Triactor ticket was Call Me Richard.

Shane Arsenault of Waterdown, Ont. owns and trains the nine-year-old son of Amigo Hall-Lexus Lulu. The victory was his second of the season from 10 tries, and the lion’s share of the loot lifted his yearly bankroll to just over $16,000. The 43-time winner has socked away close to $470,000 in career earnings.
