The Les Quebecoises Series continued for the third week at Hippodrome Quebec with the pacers back in the spotlight on Saturday afternoon

, racing over a 'good' surface rated two seconds slow.

Joining the series with a win in last week's preliminaries, D Gs Woodstock ($2.70) continued his winning momentum on Saturday with the fastest score from four $6,000 divisions in 1:59.3. Driven by Mario Charron, the Yankee Cam-Wondrous Killean homebred went wire-to-wire holding off the pocket-pulling Chinas Grill by a quarter length. Whitemountainpower, winner of his last two series starts, finished over two lengths behind. Trainer Guylaine Fortin shares ownership of the five-year-old gelding, who is three-for-four this year, with Daniel Surprenant of Saint-Valentin and Yves Sarrazin of La Presentation, Que.

The other male division was won by the upsetting Ghostbuster ($44.40) in a new mark of 2:02.1. The four-year-old Lincoln Parke-Mc Gail gelding advanced first up from fourth and wore down eventual third place finisher Shanghai Tiger, who defeated him in the first round, and held off Lincoln Jimmy by a quarter length. Denis Audet trains and drives Ghostbuster for owner Jean Trudeau of Sainte-Julie, Que. The win was his first in four starts this year.

Round two mares champion Lady Luna ($5) converted a pocket trip into a 2:01 two length score over the more popular second leg winner Petite Courageuse and E F Fantasia, with first leg winner Liz Maggs coming in fourth. Driver Sylvain Lacaille owns the Yankee Cam-Lady Of Art four-year-old while Chantal Duval trains. The win was her second (consecutive) in 11 seasonal starts.

After winning her first division by a head and missing by just half a length last week, Godiva Beachgirl ($3.30) continued her pattern of close finishes with a 2:07 victory by a neck. The five-year-old Bolero Master-Im A Beach mare, now two-for-five this season, converted from the pocket to score over Farouche G F with Kevin Maguire in the bike for owner, trainer and breeder Raymond Larose of St-Henri-De-Levis, Que.

The series is for Quebec-breds aged four and five years old. The trotters will take the stage on Sunday afternoon at Hippodrome Quebec.
