Like father, like son -- at least it’s that way in the Marohn family.
With three wins on Monticello Raceway's April 20 card, Marohn, Jr. now has 51 wins on the meet, which ties him for fifth place on the leaderboard. Billy Dobson leads the local drivers' standings with 67.
The younger Marohn is following his dad’s footsteps. Closing in on 1,000 career victories — currently with 943 — young Jimmy’s totals are dwarfed by his dad’s 5,094 career wins.
“Hey, I’m proud of my dad’s accomplishments and if I can do as well I’d be plenty satisfied,” Marohn, Jr. told the Monticello publicity department.
