Saulsbrook Diva won her fifth straight race in the $7,800 fillies and mares conditioned pace at Flamboro Downs on Saturday, April 20.
Colin Kelly and the Vernon Cochrane student were caught on the outside through the opening panel in :28 before taking command of the timer. Saulsbrook Diva clicked out two more panels in :58.1 and 1:28.3. Charging home in :29.3, the mare won by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:58.1 over Heres The Thing (Thomas Smith) in second and Ireland Seelster (Anthony Haughan) in third.
Saulsbrook Diva (Big Jim-Racino Star) is owned by Edward Gorc. The four-year-old mare won her seventh career tally in 11 starts. She returned $2.10 to win as the heavily backed favourite.
