Stuart Sowerby guided Pretty Kadabra to her third win of the season in Monday’s feature race at Grand River
Raceway.
Leaving from the rail, Pretty Kadabra shot to immediate command and laid down fractions of :29, :59.4 and 1:29.1 before stopping the clock in 1:59.3. It was just over a length back to runner-up Dash Car, and another length to third-place finisher Tymal Cherub.
The five-year-old daughter of Kadabra is trained by Sandra Houghton for owner Aristi Varsakis of Grimsby, ON. It was the mare’s 17th career win, and the lion’s share of the purse lifted her career earnings close to $100,000.
