Sunday night (April 2) at Flamboro Downs became a good night for Yvette Gallant, who notched her first victory as a trainer.
Gallant made her debut as a trainer just a few weeks ago with The Pinball Wizard, a four-year-old stallion by Archangel owned by and previously trained by Ivan Gallant. After a fifth-place finish at Woodbine Mohawk Park, he shipped to Flamboro in what was Yvette Gallant’s second start as a trainer.
Starting from post one, The Pinball Wizard worked a first-over trip in rein to Tyler Moore and overpowered pacesetter Bulldog in the stretch to win in 1:59.2 over longshot Astre Duharas. He paid $5.50 to win and is the only horse Yvette Gallant has sent to the track under her training.
