Thundering Ovation went to the front in Thursday’s $11,000 Preferred 3 for trotters at Flamboro Downs, and the photogenic mare didn’t look back en route to a 1:59.1 tally for driver Paul MacKenzie.
The OSS graduate roared to the front from Post 5 and chopped out fractions of :28.3, 1:00.1 and 1:29.1 before using a :30-second closing panel to seal the deal by one-quarter of a length over Lexis D J. Third prize went to Cold Certified.
Thundering Ovation improved her 2015 record to 6-3-0 from 11 starts while boosting her bankroll to $271,583 for trainer Gerry Sloan. The 28-time winner is a homebred owned by Joanne & Courtney Sloan of Harley, Ontario.
