On Monday, April 18 the National Thoroughbred Racing Association had the opportunity to make a statement in regard to the Association of Racing Commissioners International’s call to get rid of all race-day medication. The NTRA made no statement at all.

According to a report by the Thoroughbred Times, the NTRA's board of directors meeting concluded on Monday. The article stated that earlier in the multi-day board meeting, the board had indicated that it could issue a statement on the RCI call. The report explains that the NTRA Board decided to not comment on the proposal at the end of its meetings.

RCI is looking to phase out all race-day medications within five years.
