Rene Allard, the 24-year-old conditioner who is currently leading the nation in training victories this season, recently notched a major career milestone

.

Allard recorded his 1,000th career training victory this past weekend, a span in which Classic Obsession, Smokin N Grinin, Holdmybeer and SOS Master Plan each recorded victories for the Quebec native.

"I'm really proud of the milestone. It was one of my goals," Allard explained. "I would like to thank everyone that has been part of my success -- my owners, grooms, trainers, blacksmiths, vets, and, of course, my family and my fans."

Heading into set programs of racing for Tuesday, April 19, Allard has sent 339 starters postward during the 2011 campaign. Charges from his stable have posed for 90 winner's circle photos so far, 28 more than the stable of trainer Jamie Copley which is currently second overall. The stables of trainers Richard Moreau (56), Jeff Gillis (40) and Ed Hensley (36) round out the top five.

Allard has seven horses in to race tonight at Georgian Downs, which will kick off its card of racing with a 7:25 p.m. first-race post time. To view the entries, click the following link: Tuesday Entries - Georgian Downs.
