Passed entering the final turn, Lexi B dug deep, reasserted in the lane and captured her second straight division in the Margaret Provost Memorial Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows on Thursday, April 18. Skyline Seashell took the other $17,123 second-leg split in the series for three-year-old filly trotters.

Hammered down to 1-5, Lexi B controlled the fractions through three-quarters only to find Daylights Daughter moving ambitiously first over from third and poking her head in front. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. asked Lexi B for more, and the daughter of Southwind Frank-Sand Lavender Blu responded by retaking the lead and downing the rallying Ciao Time by 2-1/4 lengths in a career-best 1:56.2. Daylights Daughter finished third.

Ron Burke trains Lexi B for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Skyline Seashell found herself away last as the 4-5 favourite in a four-horse field, but her driver, Mike Wilder, wanted none of that. He moved her to the point at the quarter and the daughter of Father Patrick-Fate Smiled easily held off the first-over bid of Whiskeyd My Way, downing her by three-quarters of a length in 1:57.2 to equal her lifetime mark. Anns Frank completed the ticket.

Dan Altmeyer conditions Skyline Seashell for Diamond Club Racing, Anthony Capone Jr., Mark Capone and David Wills.

Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 13-race card.

Friday's program at The Meadows features the $25,000 USD second leg of the Terry Altmeyer Memorial Trot for three-year-old colt and gelding trotters. On the wagering front, the card offers a $556.77 carryover in the Lucky7 (race three). First post is 12:45 p.m.
