A report is stating that officials are in discussions that could lead to the Town of Fort Erie purchasing a portion of land that the Fort Erie Race Track sits on.
According to an article by Bullet News Niagara, discussions surrounding the potential acquisition of the land have taken place as recently as Monday (April 14).
The report explains that the purchased property would be used for industrial purposes.
Bullet News Niagara is reporting that bylaws would have to be changed before the sale could go through and that a special council meeting has been called for April 22.
The article has quoted Fort Erie Mayor Doug Martin as saying, “When the bylaw comes forward, it will have all the particulars as to what, where and how much.”
