Trot Insider has learned that three-time O'Brien Award winner Chris Christoforou, Jr. will soon be making his return to the racebike
.
Christoforou schooled a couple of mounts off the gate yesterday at Mohawk Racetrack after the qualifying session and has since declared himself ready to drive.
He has said that he will be available to drive at Woodbine Racetrack beginning Thursday, April 22.
Christoforou, a winner of more than 5,300 career races, returned from a self-imposed stint in the U.S. on March 22, and after a period of readjustment he has informed Trot Insider that he is ready both physically and mentally to resume driving duties.
He told Trot Insider that he would like to thank everyone in the industry for the incredible support he has received these past few months. "It has made a very difficult situation much easier to get through just knowing that my peers are behind me all the way," Christoforou explained.
Over the course of his career, Christoforou has steered his mounts to over $85 million in purse earnings.
