Fruit Snacker, after two victories by the smallest possible margin in the Dover Downs Open, headed to Harrington Raceway on Wednesday, April 15 and reached up on the line to win the $31,250 Open Handicap Trot for his third straight top-level victory by a nose.

Every Day Dan (Mike Cole) took the early lead from post three and flew to the opening quarter in :27.1 with Fruit Snacker racing fifth in line to Tony Morgan. Fruit Snacker, the 2-5 favourite, pulled out coming off the second turn and battled first-over through the half in :56.4 and three-quarters in 1:26.1. Every Day Dan remained on top into deep-stretch, but Fruit Snacker gained ground late and got up in the final strides to score in 1:56. Muscledover (Art Stafford Jr.) finished third.

Fruit Snacker, a four-year-old son of Dover Dan-First Avenue, took his sixth win in his last seven starts and upped his seasonal total to eight-for-11. Willard Reynolds trains the gelding, now a 19-time winner in 38 career outings, for Mark Howard. The win price was $2.80.

One race later, Dylan Davis Racing's Capicola ($3.60, Corey Callahan) won his third straight race. The win was one of three for Corey Callahan on the 14-race card.
