Not even post seven could keep Rock On Moe from finding his way to the winner’s circle for the third straight start – and for the second consecutive week in the Preferred class – at The Raceway at The Western Fair District.

Nick Steward hustled Rock On Moe to the lead from the dreaded seven-hole in Monday’s featured tilt and the Anthony Montini trainee successfully led the field through fractions of :27.3, :58 and 1:25.4 before sealing the deal with a :29.1 final frame. He held on to win by a half-length margin over Judge Jon in 1:55. Audreys Dream was third.

The suddenly-streaking pacer, who started the season 0-for-4, now boasts a 3-for-7 record in 2013 for owners Albina Montini of Acton and Nikolas Drennan of Burlington, ON. The 10-time winner has banked $109,205 to date.

Dreamfair Kovu turned a ground-saving trip into a 1:54.1 triumph in the $8,400 Preferred-2 for driver J.R. Plante. The five-year-old son of P Forty Seven-J Cs Nathalie got away third while Im Feelin Good led the field through fractions of :27.4, :56.2 and 1:25. The leader made a late break, and that allowed Dreamfair Kovu to use a :28.4 closing panel to notch the win by 1-3/4 lengths over Camythical. Fleet Sensation was third.

Pat Fletchers trains the gelding, who improved this year’s record to 3-1-1 from nine starts with the win, for owner John Lamers of Ingersoll, ON. The $4,200 payday bumped his lifetime earnings to $165,541.

The 12-race card also featured a set of $5,600 Preferred-3 events, with 58-time winner Acceptable Risk (1:57.1 – Trevor Henry/Dan Morrissey) and Flames Cammi Boy (1:56.1 – Alex Lilley/Fred Maguire).
