Not a single top-10 horse from Trot Magazine's 2011 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book had recorded a single charted line this season prior to today's qualifying session at the Meadows in Pennsylvania

Rated as the 20-1 seventh overall pick in Trot's Spring Book, bay Western Hanover colt Big Bad John took to the Meadows' five-eighths mile course.
After having not recorded a charted mile since capturing his $145,000 division of the International Stallion Stakes October 23 at the Red Mile, Big Bad John started from Post 2 in Race 5 during Meadows' 11-dash session.
With Brett Miller in the bike for trainer Ron Potter, Big Bad John went straight to the front over the 'fast' oval, cut all the fractions (:28.2, :58.4, 1:27.2) and kicked home in :27.1 to record a three and a quarter-length victory in 1:54.3.
