Six Pack And Series Sweep For Palone

Techtor Hanover exploded to the early lead for Dave Palone and drew away late to capture a division of Tuesday’s Visible Gold Pace at The Meadows.

Well Bred took the other $17,500 split of the series for three-year-old colt and geldings, giving Palone a sweep of the second leg. In all, Palone piloted six winners — three for trainer Ron Burke — on the 14-race card.

The championship leg of the Visible Gold is set for Tuesday, April 21.

Techtor Hanover missed the series’ opening leg, but he made up for lost time by seizing the lead from post 3 and widening through the stretch to prevail in 1:54. The first-over Hickory Terrific was second, 3-3/4 lengths back, with Kwik Mac third.

Mike Palone trains Techtor Hanover, a Well Said-Tempest Blue Chip gelding, for Tommy Mucci.

Well Bred sat in the pocket while RN Nate and Somekindaparty dueled down the backside. In the stretch, Palone eschewed the Lightning Lane and swung Well Bred wide after RN Nate. The Well Said-Rocknroll Cameo gelding scored in a career-best 1:54.4, a neck better than the rallying Angelo J Fra. RN Nate saved show.

Burke conditions Well Bred for Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Joseph DiScala, Jr.
