Fraser Downs' leading driver Jim Marino earned star of the card honours on Saturday night at the Surrey, B.C. oval as he won five of the 13 races, including the $12,500 feature event.

Marino captured the week's $12,500 top pace with William Young's repeating Rock Allstar ($3.40). The consistent six-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding cleared to command after the opening quarter and came back on after being overtaken by Dealers Edge down the backside to prevail in 1:54.4. Dealers Edge settled for second and Outlawdangruswatrs rounded out the top three finishers.

The career-best equalling performance was Rock Allstar's 25th victory. He has earned seven wins and four seconds in 12 starts this year to bank nearly half of his $108,114 bankroll.

In addition to the Open victory, Marino helped Ty O'Neill to a training triple with wins aboard Getmethruthenite ($6.70), Call Me Up ($4.80), and Cold And Heartless ($29.80). He also scored with Promising Girl ($8.60) for trainer Justin Currie.

Fresh off a million-dollar season in 2012, Marino has won 50 races so far this year and is one of Canada's top 10 reinsmen with his 0.347 driving average.
