NAADA Series On Tap At Monticello

The second leg of the North American Amateur Drivers Trotting Series will go to post on Thursday, April 15 at Monticello Raceway.

Twelve trotters have been entered to contest the event, thus they will be split into two six-horse divisions. The NAADA Trots will be contested in Race 1 and 5 on the 11-dash card.

Alan Schwartz’s Iroquouindianmagic has received the oddsmaker's nod in the first split. Though the veteran gelding has just one race under his belt thus far this year, he was individually timed in 2:00:1 while finishing third in a $10,000 claiming event on April 7. Newcomer Arcaro, with Peter Gerry at the controls, figures to get a lot of play, too. The five-year-old Yankee Glide gelding already has two victories this year -- the fastest a 2:01:1 effort on January 14 at Freehold Raceway. The former will leave from the five-hole while the latter will race away from Post 2.

Winning Prince will headline the other division after his 2:03:1 gate-to-wire performance in the initial Monticello leg on April 1. NAADA president Joe Faraldo will again be in the pilot’s seat when the seven-year-old American Winner gelding starts from the coveted pole position. They’ll have to contend with Patsy B Happy and driver David Yarock, who together won the initial Yonkers Raceway leg on Thursday, April 8 with a come-from-behind victory in a time of 2:02:1. Patsy B Happy finished a fast-closing fourth to Winning Prince at the 'Mighty M' in the series' initial leg.

The NAADA Trotting Series is comprised of three legs and a final at both Monticello Raceway and Yonkers Raceway throughout the month of April. The highest point-earners at the Mighty M will earn a berth in the series' $4,000 consolation, while the top point earners in the Yonkers legs getting a chance to compete in the series $12,000 final.
