Due to a power outage in the town of Harrington, the final race on the 13-race card at Harrington Raceway was canceled.
Prior to the outage, Feeling Sweet was victorious in the featured $20,000 Mares Open in 1:53.1.
A five-year-old Sweet Lou mare, Feeling Sweet made the lead near the opening quarter in :27.4 seconds and led the field of seven mares to a half in a moderate :57.1. Feeling Sweet remained on top under confident handling to three-quarters in 1:25.2 with Pass Line Bluechip awaiting room in the pocket. In the stretch, Feeling Sweet remained a head the best over Pass Line Bluechip, who surged down the passing lane, while Intheskyrocket A closed for third.
It was the 17th win for Feeling Sweet, who is trained by Joe Columbo for owners George and Tina Dennis. Mike Cole drove the $2.60 winner.
