Native Dream powered to the lead past the quarter and went on to score in a career-best 1:54.1 in the fastest division of Friday’s My Drag Queen Pace at The Meadows.

The opening leg of the event for three-year-old fillies was conducted over three divisions, with R Marie Hanover and Bo Tox Hanover taking the other $11,250 splits. Brett Miller enjoyed an opening-leg double with Native Dream and Bo Tox Hanover. The series was named for My Drag Queen, a fast-class pacer still active at The Meadows.

Away second, Miller and Native Dream pulled the pocket past the quarter to wrest the lead from the 1-2 favourite, Save My Dragon. The daughter of Allamerican Native-Eternal Optimism held off the late charge of Save My Dragon to defeat her by one and a half lengths. Dragons Tale rallied for show. Jim Dailey trains Native Dream, who has won four of seven lifetime starts, for Pacey Mindlin and Kenneth Cohen.

An 11-race maiden entering the series, R Marie Hanover confidently attacked the 1-9 favourite, Mattwestern, in the stretch and downed her by a length in 1:56. Shy Dragon K earned show. Greg Grismore piloted the daughter of Somebeachsomewhere-R Ellen Hanover for trainer Norm Parker and owner Megan Rogers.
