The Alberta Standardbred Horse Association (ASHA) has announced the return of the Meridian Farms' Name That Foal Contest featuring a filly in need of a name by Vertical Horizon out of the Mach Three mare Tigra Seelster.
Prizes will be awarded for Best Name, Best Letter (explaining why the participant selected the name entered for the foal) and Best Art (a drawing of the foal) in two age groups for eight-year-olds & under and nine to 16-year-olds.
The contest rules state that the name must be a maximum of 18 letters (including spaces) and may contain only letters (no numbers, graphics, etc.).
All entries must be received in the ASHA office via mail, fax or email by May 6, 2019. The winners will be announced in the winner's circle at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino on May 12, 2019.
