T Squared got off to a slow start this season as her 0-for-3 record would indicate, but she picked a good time to put it all together thanks to her 1:57 score in Friday’s $25,000 BC Sires Stake Final for four-year-old mares at Fraser Downs.
The daughter of Allamerican Cobalt-Samantha Square battled with News At Ten to the quarter pole in :28.1 before getting that foe seated up. T Squared then dictated the tempo through middle splits of :59 and 1:27.4 before steamrolling home in :29.1. She won by a pair of lengths over Go To The Windows. Third prize went to News At Ten.
Trainer/driver Rick White, who co-owns the homebred with June Kauffman of Woodinville, Washington, watched her win for the eighth time in her career. The lion’s share of the loot lifted the distaffer’s career bankroll to $86,317.
