J One Twenty topped the Wednesday, April 10 evening card at The Raceway at Western Fair District with a stellar performance in the featured $8,400 conditioned pace, lowering her own career-best time by a tick.
Tyler Borth and the Jerry Sims student were caught on the outside as the first quarter was clocked in :27.4 by Shakeitifyougotit (Daryl Thiessen). After that panel, J One Twenty took command of the field. With a 1-1/2-length lead through the half in :57.3 and three-quarters in 1:26.1, the mare had open track ahead towards the finish. She pushed forward and sprinted home in :29.1 to win by 4-1/2 lengths in her new career mark of 1:55.2. Waitinonawoman (Travis Cullen) took second and Shakeitifyougotit completed the triactor.
John Obrien co-owns J One Twenty (Artspeak-Saintsbury Lady) with Sims. The five-year-old mare won her second race in seven starts this year and 15th race from 33 career starts. She moved her career bankroll to $89,114. J One Twenty paid $2.20 as the bettors' choice.
