Longshot At Last rallied off cover in Fraser Downs' $12,500 Open Pace to pick up his third straight win since making the move from

California to British Columbia at the end of March.

The four-year-old gelded son of Western Ideal-Dinah Classic, who was sent postward as the longest shot on the board at odds of 22-1, got away sixth in the field of eight with Kevin Anderson in the bike for trainer Debra McCarthy. Leaving from the rail, Beach Boy Toy (David Hudon) secured the early lead in a :26.3 opener with Lilsharkshooter (David McKellar) parked out in second. The pair continued to battle to the half in :55.3 while Cash Account (Carl Sibiga) angled out from fifth with At Last following.

As Lilsharkshooter began to fade, Cash Account progressed and reached the top at the three-quarters mark of 1:23.4, however, he could not hold off the challenges from At Last and the pocket-sitting Ridgeline (Ed Hensley) in the stretch. At Last surged to a career-best 1:52.3 victory while Ridgeline finished half a length behind. Cash Account rounded out the top three.

At Last, owned by Mark Anderson of Willows, California, returned $47.60 for his fourth win in 13 starts this year. The lion's share of the purse pushed his seasonal bankroll to $21,084.
