Trainer Jamie Copley extended his lead atop the trainers’ standings at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday thanks to a three-win performance on the 15-race card
.
Copley, who leads all Rideau conditioners with 49 wins this season, watched Rockin To Do kick off the card with a 2:01 score. Stephane Gendron mapped out the winning trip for the six-year-old son of Glory B River.
That trainer/driver duo returned to victory lane just two races later when Kiss Quietly front-stepped to a 1:56.2. score in Race 3. They returned to take the checkered flag with Bee Sparky in Race 14. The gelding held on to win by a nose in 2:00.3.
Copley came within four wins of enjoying a 200-win season in 2010 while banking in excess of $1 million for the first time in his career. So far this year, the barn has clicked for 54 wins while stashing away more than $250,000 in earnings.
