After one of the weirdest winters on record for Florida, driving ace Trevor Ritchie is looking forward to returning to his homebase in Ontario next week

The trotting specialist will be back in the Woodbine drivers' room starting this Thursday, April 8 and he's happy to see something won't greet him upon his return - snow.

"I've been coming down here for 10 years or so and I've never seen anything like this winter we had," Ritchie told Trot Insider. "And yet I'd watch the races up at Woodbine and there was no snow in the infield!"

Ritchie will be back in Ontario on Tuesday and better than ever after some minor surgery on his knee cleared up a cartilage issue, which did not affect his golf game or getting back in the bike for a few drives aboard talent trotter Tom Cango a few times earlier this year at Isle Pompano Park.

The O'Brien Award winning driver boasts over 3,560 wins and more than $65 million in lifetime purses.
